Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion

Okay kiddo, so sometimes when metal things like pipes or boats go in water, there are tiny little creatures called microbes that like to live on the metal. But these creatures don't always play nice because they can eat away at the metal and make it weaker - kind of like how you might nibble on a cookie and make it smaller. This is called microbiologically influenced corrosion, or MIC for short. It's important to watch out for MIC because it can cause big problems like leaks and even breakages. So, people who work with metal things in water need to make sure they take steps to prevent these little microbes from causing trouble.
