Microformat

A microformat is a way to make certain pieces of information on a webpage easier for computers to understand. You may not see it when you look at the page, but a microformat is like a special label or code that helps your computer see the information more clearly. For example, if you look at a page on the internet and see an email address, a microformat can help your computer see that it's an email address so that it can be saved in an address book or sent automatically to another program.
