Microwave chemistry

Microwave chemistry is a type of chemistry that uses microwaves instead of a traditional flame to heat up chemicals. Microwaves are radio waves that heat up water inside substances, so they can make a reaction happen. You can use a microwave to do chemical reactions like mixing two substances together and seeing what happens, or breaking down a bigger molecule into smaller ones. In some cases, microwave chemistry can be faster, safer, and more efficient than using a flame.
