Militarism

Militarism is when a nation, usually one that is powerful, has a strong army and a strong presence in the world. They usually have a policy of using force or the threat of force to get what they want. For example, a powerful nation that is militaristic might use its army to try to gain control of other nations, or might threaten to go to war if other countries do something it doesn't like.
