Military operations other than war

Military operations other than war (OOTW) are actions that militaries and other government organizations take to help people in times of crisis or turmoil. These actions can involve providing medical and humanitarian aid, helping to restore essential services and infrastructure, assisting in natural disasters, building partnerships with local leaders and civil society, and training and equipping local security forces. OOTW can also mean using military forces to stop violence or restore order in areas of conflict or unrest.
