Millwork (building material)

Millwork is like building blocks for grownups. It's special types of wood that are cut and shaped in a factory to make things that go inside buildings, like doors, windows, moldings, and cabinets. It's called "millwork" because it's made using big machines called sawmills that cut the wood into the right shapes and sizes.

Imagine playing with blocks that are already perfectly shaped and ready to be put together. That's what millwork is like for builders and carpenters. Instead of having to measure and cut the wood themselves, they can buy millwork pieces that are already the right size and shape. This makes building things faster and easier.

Sometimes millwork is made from different types of wood, like oak, maple, or cherry. These woods can be stained or painted to match the rest of the building. And because millwork is made in a factory, it's usually very precise and looks really nice once it's installed.
