Misiones Province

Misiones Province is an area in the northeastern part of Argentina, near Brazil and Paraguay. It is called "Misiones" because it was where Jesuit missionaries (people who teach others about their religion) came to spread their teachings to the local indigenous people many years ago.

They speak Spanish, but there are also some people who speak Guarani, which is the language of the indigenous people who first lived there before Spanish people came. Some people in Misiones are farmers and grow things like tea and yerba mate, which is a drink that's popular in Argentina and other countries.
