Mission Accomplished speech

Mission Accomplished is a phrase used by President George W. Bush in 2003 when he announced the end of the Iraq war. He delivered a speech aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln where he said, "Major Combat Operations in Iraq have ended. In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our Allies have prevailed." This speech was meant to be a signal that the US had accomplished its mission in Iraq and that the fighting was over.
