Some people in Missouri were on the Northern side, and some were on the Southern side. It was a really difficult time for people in Missouri, and many battles were fought there.
Nowadays, Missouri is known for lots of things, like their delicious barbeque and their love for sports, especially baseball. They also have lots of interesting cities to visit, like St. Louis and Kansas City. And did you know that Missouri is the birthplace of Mark Twain, who wrote lots of famous books like "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer"?
