Missouri has a really important role in the history of the United States. During the Civil War, which was a big fight between the Northern part of the U.S. and the Southern part, Missouri was in the middle. Some people in Missouri were on the Northern side, and some were on the Southern side. It was a really difficult time for people in Missouri, and many battles were fought there.
Nowadays, Missouri is known for lots of things, like their delicious barbeque and their love for sports, especially baseball. They also have lots of interesting cities to visit, like St. Louis and Kansas City.
