Mochi

Mochi is a sweet treat that comes from Japan. It's made from a special kind of rice that is sticky and chewy. First, the rice is soaked in water overnight. Then it's steamed until it's really soft. After that, the rice is pounded with a big wooden hammer until it's smooth and stretchy like dough. This is the mochi!
