Mohenjo-daro

Alright, kiddo, let me tell you a story about a place called Mohenjo-Daro.

A very long time ago, in a far-off land called the Indus Valley, there was a big city called Mohenjo-Daro. It was a very special city because the people who lived there were very clever and had lots of cool ideas that helped their city grow and thrive.

One of the things that made Mohenjo-Daro special was that it was built in a really smart way. The city had a big wall surrounding it to protect it from bad guys who might try to attack. The houses were made of bricks and had very thick walls, so they stayed cool in the hot summer months and warm in the cold winter months.

Another cool thing about Mohenjo-Daro was that they had a really good system for bringing water to the city. They built special pools and wells where people could get clean water to drink and wash with. They even built special sewers to take away dirty water and waste so that the city didn't get all stinky and gross.

The people of Mohenjo-Daro were also very creative. They made beautiful jewelry and pottery, and they had a really cool writing system that nobody today can read because it was so long ago.

But even though Mohenjo-Daro was a great city, it eventually declined and disappeared. Nobody knows exactly why, but some people think it might have been because of a drought or a flood or maybe even an invasion.

But even though the city is gone now, we can still learn a lot about what life was like back then by looking at the ruins of Mohenjo-Daro. So even though the people who lived there are all gone now, the city of Mohenjo-Daro will always be remembered as a special place where clever people built a great city.
