Momentum compaction

Momentum Compaction is like squishing a rubber band. It takes something that is spread out and squishes it together to make it shorter. In Momentum Compaction, the 'rubber band' is actually beams of electrons. Scientists use a special machine to 'squish' the electrons so they become shorter and faster. The result is that particles will move faster and have more energy, which can be used to make more powerful machines in science and medicine.
