ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Momentum transfer

Momentum transfer is something that happens when things collide with each other or touch each other. When something has momentum, it means it's moving with a certain amount of force or energy. When things collide or touch each other, they can transfer that force or energy to each other, like a game of hot potato. Think of throwing a ball to your friend- when you throw the ball, it has momentum and energy, and when your friend catches it, they transfer that energy and momentum to themselves. This is what momentum transfer is! It's like a game of passing energy back and forth between things that collide or touch each other.
