Monge–Ampère equation

In math, we can describe this process using something called the Monge-Ampère equation. It's all about finding the right way to fold a flat shape into a certain curve or shape without any parts of the paper getting messed up.

Basically, the equation tells us what kind of curve or shape we can get from folding the paper correctly. It's really useful in a lot of different areas of math and science, from studying the flow of water in rivers to understanding the shapes of planets and stars.

So while the Monge-Ampère equation might seem complicated at first, it's really just a way of describing how to fold paper properly so that we can create all sorts of cool shapes and curves. Pretty neat, huh?
