ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Month

Months are like small parts that make up a year. There are 12 months in a year and each month has its own name. You may have heard of January, February, March, and so on.

Imagine a year like a whole big pizza, and each slice of pizza represents one month. So just like how you can cut the pizza into 12 slices, a year has 12 months.

Each month is special and has different things associated with it. For example, January is usually when we celebrate the New Year, and April is known for April Fool's Day.

Some months have special seasons too, like June when it's usually warm and sunny outside, and December when it's usually colder and we celebrate holidays like Christmas.

People use months to keep track of time and plan events. So if someone asks you when your birthday is, you could say it's in July, which means your birthday is in the seventh month of the year.

In summary, months are small parts that make up a year, and each month has a name and is associated with different things like seasons and holidays. People use months to keep track of time and plan events.
