Moon Shot

A moon shot is when a rocket is launched with the goal of sending someone to the moon. People used to think it was impossible to get to the moon, but in 1969 two people, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, went to the moon on a spacecraft called the Apollo 11. They were the first people to ever go to the moon and it was a really big achievement! Scientists, engineers, and other people worked really hard to develop the technology to make it possible for them to get to the moon and come back safely. It was an exciting time in history!
