Moplah Riots

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of riots before? It's when a lot of people get very angry and start fighting and causing trouble. The Moplah Riots were a type of riot that happened about 100 years ago in a place called Malabar in India.

Now, you might be wondering why these people were so angry. Well, at that time, India was ruled by the British, and the people of Malabar were feeling very unhappy about being under British rule. They were also feeling very upset about some of the things that were happening in their own community, like the high cost of living, lack of job opportunities, and unfair treatment by landlords.

So, one day, things came to a boiling point and some people started protesting. But instead of peaceful protests, these protests turned into violent riots. People started attacking others who they thought were on the side of the British, or who they thought were oppressing them.

It was a very scary time, with lots of people getting hurt and killed. Eventually, the British were able to bring in reinforcements and put a stop to the riots, but it took a long time for things to calm down and for the people of Malabar to feel safe again.

So that's what the Moplah Riots were all about, kiddo. It was a time when people were feeling very angry and frustrated, and unfortunately, that anger turned into violence and chaos.
