ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Muisca warfare

So, the Muisca were a group of people who lived a long time ago in what is now Colombia. And just like how sometimes people argue or fight with each other, the Muisca also had times when they had to fight with other groups of people.

When the Muisca went to war, they would have different kinds of warriors. Some of them would be very good at using bows and arrows, and others would use spears. They would also have people who were really good at fighting up close, called "swordsmen."

Before they went to war, the Muisca would have to prepare. They would get themselves all ready by painting their bodies and faces with different colors. Sometimes they would even wear special clothes or carry special objects to help them fight better.

When the Muisca went into battle, they would use a bunch of different tactics, which are like plans of how to fight. Some of these tactics included sneaking up on their enemies, while others involved charging straight at them. They would try to outsmart their enemies and be really fast and strong.

But even when the Muisca won a battle, they didn't always hurt or kill their enemies. Sometimes they would make peace with them instead. This means they would agree to stop fighting and live peacefully together.

Overall, the Muisca were a very tough and brave group of people when it came to warfare. But they also understood the importance of peace and working together instead of always fighting.
