Multiphase flow meter

Do you remember playing with bubbles in the bath? Bubbles are made of soap and water mixed together. Imagine in a big pipe that carries fluids like oil and gas, there are also bubbles or liquids mixed together. This is called a multiphase flow.

In this pipe, there is a device called a multiphase flow meter. This machine can see what is inside the pipe and tell us how much oil, gas, and water are all mixed together.

The multiphase flow meter has sensors that can feel the pressure and temperature of the fluids. When it feels the pressure and temperature changes, it can calculate what is inside the pipe.

Like when you mix different colors of paint together and they make a new color, the multiphase flow meter can tell us how much of each color is in the mix. This is important for the workers who use the pipe because they need to know how much oil, gas, and water they are pumping out, so they can use it for different things.

So, the multiphase flow meter is like a big bubble watcher in the pipe that can tell us what is inside and how much of everything is there.
