ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Multiple drafts model

A multiple drafts model is a way of understanding how we store information in our brains. It's like each one of us has lots of different drafts, or copies, of the same story in our brains at once. Imagine that you are telling a story to your friends. As you tell the story, different things come to mind. You might remember something else that happened, or a different way to phrase something you said. The multiple drafts model says that all of those different versions of the story exist at the same time in your brain, like lots of different drafts of the same story.
