Multisyllabic rhymes

Okay kiddo, so you know how some words have just one sound at the end that sounds the same as another word's ending sound, like "cat" and "hat"? That's called a rhyme.

Now, some words are longer and have more than one sound at the end, like "elephant" or "banana". So when we try to find another word that sounds like the end of "elephant" or "banana", we need to find a word that has more than one sound that matches.

That's what we call a multisyllabic rhyme - when two words have the same sounds at the end, but those sounds are made up of more than one syllable. It can be a little trickier to find multisyllabic rhymes than simple rhymes, but they can be really fun to use in poetry or songs.

For example, "elephant" and "relevant" are multisyllabic rhymes because they end with the same three sounds: "phant", and "levant". Other examples are "innocent" and "dominant", or "nostalgic" and "ecologic".
