Mundt–Ferguson Communist Registration Bill

The Mundt-Ferguson Communist Registration Bill was a law passed in the United States in 1948 that required people who were members of a Communist party to register with the government. This meant that anyone in the country who was a member of a Communist party (a group that believed in a different type of government than the United States had) had to tell the government they were a member. It also meant they had to tell the government what activities, meetings, and rallies they were a part of. This was to help the government keep an eye on Communist activities in the country.
