Municipal annexation

Municipal annexation is when a city or town takes over land that used to be outside of its boundaries. It's like when you get a bigger room in your house and you have more space to play in. The city or town wants to get more space too, so they can grow and have more people living there.

When a city or town wants to annex land, they need permission from the people who live there. This is like asking your parents for permission before you move into your bigger room. If everyone agrees, then the city or town can take over the land and people who live there can become part of the city or town.

Sometimes, the people who live on the land don't want to become part of the city or town. Maybe they don't like some of the rules or they don't want to pay more taxes. In these cases, there can be a lot of arguing and debating before the city or town can annex the land. It's like when you and your friends want to play a game but can't agree on the rules.

In the end, annexation can be a good thing for the city or town because they can grow and have more places for people to live and work. But it's also important to make sure that everyone is happy with the decision and that the rules are fair for everyone involved.
