Murder of Pam Basu

One day, a long time ago, a lady named Pam Basu was driving her car with her little girl in the back seat. While she was driving, a man named Bernard who was driving another car, crashed into the back of Pam's car. This made Pam's car spin out of control and caused a lot of damage to her car.
Pam got out of her car to see the damage and talk to Bernard, but instead of helping her, Bernard took off running. Pam chased after him because she wanted him to take responsibility for what he did.
But then something very, very sad happened. While Pam was running after Bernard, he drove his car over her and kept going. This hurt Pam very badly, and she had to go to the hospital. But even though the doctors tried really hard to make her better, she died from her injuries.
The police found out who Bernard was and arrested him for what he did. He was charged with something called "murder" because he hurt Pam on purpose and she died from her injuries.
Murder is a very bad thing to do, and people who do it can get into a lot of trouble with the law. It's important to always be careful when we're driving, and to never hurt anyone on purpose.
