Music of Norway

Music from Norway is a type of sound that comes from a country. Just like you have a special way of talking or things you do that are unique to where you live, people in Norway have a special kind of music that they love to listen to and create.

One type of music from Norway is called folk music. It's traditional music that has been passed down from generation to generation. Folk music often uses instruments like a fiddle (a type of violin) or a hardanger fiddle (a type of Norwegian violin that has a special soundbox and extra strings). The music also often has lyrics that tell stories about the history or culture of Norway.

Another type of music from Norway is black metal. This kind of music started in the 1980s and is known for its heavy, dark sound. The lyrics often focus on themes of death, darkness, and sometimes even Norse mythology. Black metal is played on electric guitars, drums, and bass, and sometimes includes shrieking, growling, or screaming vocals.

Norway is also home to a lot of famous musicians, like Kygo, A-ha, and Edvard Grieg. Kygo makes music that's great for dancing and partying, while A-ha is known for their pop rock sound and catchy songs. Edvard Grieg is a composer who lived a long time ago (he was born in 1843!) and is famous for his beautiful classical music pieces.

So basically, music from Norway can sound different depending on what type you're listening to, but it's all special and loved by the people who create and listen to it!
