Music of the United States

The United States is a huge country made up of many different people who have all brought their own music with them. Music from the United States can take many different forms and styles. There is blues music that has its roots in the African-American experience, rock and roll which has evolved since the 1950s, folk music which was popular before the 1960s, and country music which has its roots in the folk songs of the southern states. There is also jazz which came from New Orleans and classical music from Europe. All of these different types of music come together to create a unique sound that is uniquely American.
