ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Muxponder

A muxponder, little friend, is like a magical transformer box that turns many different signals into one big signal so they can all travel down the same road (or fiber optic cable) together and arrive at their destination at the same time. It's kind of like packing a bunch of toys into one big box so you can carry them all at once instead of carrying many small boxes. The muxponder takes the signals and compresses them together into one big signal, then sends it down the road where it can be unpacked at the other end by a magical box called a demuxponder. The demuxponder takes the one big signal and divides it back into all the different signals again so they can each go to their proper destination. So, to sum it up, a muxponder and a demuxponder are like a team of magical transformers that help our signals travel faster and more efficiently!
