ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

My Network Places

Okay kiddo, so you know how sometimes you want to play with your toys, but they're in your bedroom and you're in the living room? Well, sometimes grown-ups have a lot of important things they need to work on and they're not all in the same place, so they need a way for all those important things to talk to each other even if they're not in the same room.

That's where My Network Places comes in! It's kind of like a giant toy box where all the grown-up work things can play together. When you click on My Network Places on your computer, it opens up a window where you can see all the different places on your network.

But what's a network, you ask? Great question! A network is just a fancy word for a bunch of computers and other gadgets that are all connected together so they can talk to each other.

So when you open up My Network Places, you might see things like other computers in your house, or maybe a printer or a special storage place where grown-ups keep files. If you need to use one of those things, you can just click on it and your computer will connect to it so you can play with it (or use it for your homework, or whatever else you need to do).

And that's My Network Places, kiddo! It's just like a giant toy box for grown-up work things.
