Hello! Today we are going to talk about myopia in animals. Do you know what myopia means? It means that your eyes can't see things that are far away very well.
Just like people, animals can have myopia too. This means that they can have trouble seeing things that are far away. Some animals, like cats and dogs, can inherit myopia from their parents.
When an animal has myopia, their eye is usually longer than normal, which makes it harder for them to see things that are far away. This is because the light that enters their eye doesn't focus correctly on the back of their eye, called the retina. Instead, it focuses in front of the retina, which makes everything far away look blurry.
Luckily, animals with myopia can still see things that are close up with no problems. And just like people, animals with myopia can get glasses or contacts to help them see better. In some cases, animals can even get surgery to correct their myopia.
So, that's myopia in animals! It means that their eyes have trouble seeing things that are far away, but they can still see things that are close up.
