ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

NS Savannah

Okay kiddo, I'll try my best to explain the NS Savannah to you like you're 5 years old!

The NS Savannah is a really big boat that was made a long time ago. It was built by some smart people who wanted to try and make a special kind of boat that was powered by something called "nuclear energy."

You know how when we need to make things go, we usually use gas or electricity? Well, the people who made the NS Savannah wanted to use a special kind of energy that comes from something called "atoms."

Atoms are these really tiny things that make up everything around us, like the air we breathe and the water we drink. When we use nuclear energy, we're using the energy that's stored in these tiny atoms.

So, the NS Savannah was designed to use this special kind of energy. It had a big reactor inside of it that was kind of like a really powerful battery. The reactor could generate enough power to help the boat move through the water.

The NS Savannah was a very important boat because it was the first one of its kind to use nuclear energy. It was built as a way to show that we could use this kind of energy to power all sorts of things, like boats and even cities.

Even though the NS Savannah isn't used anymore, it's still very important because it paved the way for more research and developments in the use of nuclear energy. It showed us that we have the power to create new and exciting ways to power the things around us!
