Naadam is a festival that people in Mongolia have been celebrating for a really long time - for over 800 years! It usually takes place in July and it's a big deal for everyone in the country.
At Naadam, there are three main sports that people compete in. They are called "The Three Manly Sports" because traditionally, only men were allowed to participate. But now, women can compete too.
The first sport is called "wrestling". In this sport, two people try to push each other to the ground. The winner is the person who can get the other person to touch the ground first.
The second sport is called "archery". This is a lot like shooting arrows with a bow and arrow, but the targets are much further away. The person who hits the target the most times is the winner.
The third sport is called "horse racing". This is a really long race that can be around 30 kilometers! Children from the age of 5 to 12 years participate in horse racing. The horses are specially trained and they run really fast.
Besides sports, there are also lots of other fun things to do at Naadam - like eating special foods, listening to traditional music and watching other shows. It's a really exciting time for everyone in Mongolia!
