Nadir of American race relations is a period in the history of the United States when the relationship between people of different races was the worst it has ever been. It happened during the late 19th and early 20th century when Black people were still being enslaved and treated harshly by white people. This period was also marked by a lot of violence and racial prejudice in the law, as well as in public opinion. During this time, it was especially hard to be a Black person in America.
