ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nat (deity)

So, a long time ago, people were amazed by the wonders and dangers of the natural world around them. They wanted to find a way to connect with and maybe even control these powerful forces. They started to believe in and worship different gods and goddesses who they thought controlled things like the sun, the moon, the weather, and the earth.

One of these goddesses was named Nat. She was believed to be the goddess of the earth and all the plants and animals that lived on it. People believed that if they respected and worshipped her, she would bless their crops and keep them safe from harm.

But, different cultures had different ideas about who Nat was and what she looked like. Some people believed she was a beautiful woman with long hair and flowing robes. Others thought she was a powerful animal like a bear or a wolf. Some even believed she was a combination of both!

Even today, some people still believe in and worship Nat and other nature deities. They believe that by respecting and taking care of the earth and all its creatures, they can still receive her blessings and protection.
