ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nat (spirit)

Okay, kiddo, let me explain what nat or spirit means.

Imagine a person living in a house. That person has a personality, right? And they have feelings, thoughts, and actions that make them who they are.

Similarly, nat or spirit is like the personality or essence of a place, thing, or even a person who has passed away. People believe that everything around us has a spirit, like rivers, mountains, trees, and animals.

For example, if you go into a forest, you might feel a certain energy or atmosphere. That is the spirit of the forest. Or if someone close to you has passed, and you feel their presence, that is their spirit.

In some cultures, people even believe that spirits can bring good luck, protect them from harm, and help them with their daily activities.

But remember, these beliefs are based on faith and personal experiences, and not everyone believes in the spirit or nat of things.
