National Historic Trail

Okay kiddo, do you like going on adventures? Have you ever gone on a really long trip or hike? Well, a national historic trail is kind of like going on a big adventure through history.

You know how sometimes you visit really cool places like museums or national parks and you learn all about what happened there a long time ago? Well, a national historic trail is kind of like that, but you actually get to follow a path that important people in history once traveled on.

For example, there's a national historic trail called the Oregon Trail. A long, long time ago, people would travel on this trail from the east coast of the United States all the way to the west coast, where they hoped to settle and build new homes. It was a really difficult journey, but it helped shape the country that we know today.

So when you go on a national historic trail, you're following in the footsteps of those people who made that journey so long ago. You get to see the same views and experience the same challenges that they did. It's like a big adventure back in time!
