ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

National Response Plan

Okay kiddo, let me explain what the national response plan is like you're five years old.

You know how sometimes things happen that are really big and affect lots of people? Like a hurricane, or a big fire, or even something like a terrorist attack? Well, when things like that happen, it's really important that lots of different people and groups work together to make sure everyone stays safe and everything gets back to normal as soon as possible.

That's where the national response plan comes in. It's kind of like a big plan that the government puts together to make sure everyone knows what to do when something bad happens. It tells all the different groups (like police, firefighters, doctors, and a bunch of others) how they should work together to protect people and help them if something bad happens.

And it's not just for big things like hurricanes or terrorist attacks - the national response plan can also be used for things like helping people if there's a dangerous virus going around, or if there's a big accident that happens.

So, basically, the national response plan is like a really big "what to do" guide that helps lots of different people work together to keep everyone safe and make sure things get back to normal as quickly as possible.
