National Rural Employment Guarantee Act

The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) is a law in India that tries to help people in rural areas, who don’t have access to jobs, get money for working on projects that are decided by the government.

Under the law, if you are a person living in a rural area and you don’t have any job, you can apply to the government for a job. The government will then decide what kind of project you can work on and you can start working on it. You will get paid for all the work you do, no matter how small or large the project is.

The goal of this law is to give people in rural areas more opportunities to earn money and be able to provide for themselves and their families, and to help build strong communities in the rural areas.
