ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

National Ski Patrol

National ski patrol is a group of really cool and brave people who work together to keep us safe when we’re skiing or snowboarding. Think of them like your mom and dad, but instead of watching over you at home, they watch over you when you’re having fun on the snowy mountains.

They wear special uniforms and have all kinds of neat tools to help them do their job, like first-aid kits and rescue sleds. These guys and gals spend a lot of time preparing for emergencies and practicing how to handle different situations in case something goes wrong on the slopes.

When you’re skiing, national ski patrol is around to help you if you get hurt or lost, or if the weather gets really bad. They also make sure people don’t do anything unsafe while they’re skiing, like going too fast or not wearing a helmet.

So next time you hit the slopes, don’t forget to wave hello to the national ski patrol! They’re always ready to lend a hand and make sure you’re safe and having fun.
