National Socialist Black Metal

National Socialist Black Metal (often shortened to NSBM) is a kind of music that combines heavy metal and Nietzsche-inspired extreme right-wing ideology. It is inspired by Nazi Germany and sometimes explicitly promotes anti-Semitism, white supremacy, racism, homophobic and social Darwinist messages. The lyrics of these songs often focus on themes such as paganism, violence, and opposition to the modern world. The musicians often wear black uniforms and use Nazi symbols and imagery to create an atmosphere of terror, doom and despair. The music is typically fast-paced and features distorted guitars and other instruments. NSBM is considered to be a subgenre of black metal, a subgenre of metal music which emerged in the 1980s and features heavily distorted music with melodic and aggressive vocals.
