Native Language Immersion Student Achievement Act

The Native Language Immersion Student Achievement Act is a law that helps children who speak a different language at home learn better in school. You know how you might go to school and learn reading, writing, and math in English or maybe Spanish? Well, some kids speak a different language at home like Navajo or Yup’ik, and it can be hard for them to learn in a new language.

This law helps these kids by having schools teach them in their native language instead of just English or Spanish. That way, they can learn things better because it’s easier for them to understand.

The Native Language Immersion Student Achievement Act is really important because when kids learn and do better in school, they can have more opportunities like getting a good job, giving back to their communities, and having a brighter future.
