Nativism (politics)

Nativism is a way of thinking that favors people who were born in a particular place or country over people who were born somewhere else. Nativism can be a political attitude that people can have, but it can also be an attitude held by governments. For example, some governments may be nativist, meaning that they give special rights or privileges to people who were born in their country. This can be done even if those people don't have any other connection to that country. In these cases, people who weren't born in the country or who don't have family that was born there, are not given the same rights and privileges as those who were born there.
