Natural History (Pliny)

Natural history is a topic studied by Pliny the Elder, an ancient Roman historian who lived from 23–79 A.D. Pliny wrote a book called the Natural History, which talked about the plants, animals, and minerals in the world. He went around the world and used his observations to describe the plants and animals he found. He also talked about how to use plants, minerals, and animals to make medicines, potions, and paints. In recent years, his work has been popular with scientists again and is used to help understand how animals and plants have evolved over centuries.
