Natural bobtail
Alright kiddo, so a bobtail is when an animal doesn't have a long tail like most other animals do. They still have a tail, it's just shorter than usual.
Now, a natural bobtail is when an animal is born with a short tail instead of having it cut off or missing it for some other reason. Some dog breeds, like the Australian Shepherd, are known for having natural bobtails.
Scientists think that this trait might have come about through something called a mutation. That's when there is a change in an animal's genes that makes them different from others of their species.
But even though some animals might look a little different because of a natural bobtail, they are still just as cute and wonderful as any other animal!
