Near Eastern archaeology is like playing a big game of hide-and-seek with really old things. You know how you sometimes hide your toys and then forget where you put them? To find these things, archaeologists use tools like shovels, brushes, and sieves to dig through the dirt layer by layer. It's like taking apart a really big puzzle! Sometimes, they even use cool gadgets like drones to take pictures of the ground from above.

Once they find something interesting, like a piece of writing or a sculpture, they have to be very careful not to break it or damage it. They might put it in a special bag or box to make sure it stays safe.
