ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Neumorphism

Neumorphism is a new design trend that is becoming popular in some applications and websites. Neumorphism is all about making things look like they pop out of the screen or surface.

To explain it like you're five: Imagine you are playing with play dough and you make a ball. Then, you press your finger on one side of the ball so it sticks out, and you press the other side of the ball so it goes in. Now, you have a ball that looks like it's popping out of the screen! That's what neumorphism designs look like.

Neumorphism designs use light and shadow to create the illusion that the object is floating off the screen or surface. The design makes it look like it has a physical presence even though it's just on a digital screen.

So, when you see a button or a card on a website or app that looks like it's coming out of the screen or surface, that's neumorphism! It's just a cool design trend that makes things look more realistic and natural on your digital device.
