New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen people who are moving from one place to another, either by choice or because they have to leave their homes for safety reasons? This happens a lot in the world and it's called migration.

Recently, leaders from different countries got together and talked about all the people who have to migrate because of war, violence, or other dangerous situations in their home countries. They wanted to do something to help them and make sure they are treated fairly.

So, they wrote something called the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants. This is a big piece of paper that says some really important things.

First, it talks about how all countries should work together to make sure that people who have to migrate are safe and protected. This means that if someone has to leave their home, they should be treated with kindness and given the help they need.

The declaration also says that leaders should make sure that all children who have to migrate get to go to school and that adults can work to make a living, too. Everyone deserves to have a good life, no matter where they come from.

Finally, the declaration talks about how countries should work together to share the responsibility of helping refugees and migrants. This means that no one country should have to take care of all the people who are migrating. When everyone works together, everyone can be safe and happy.

So, the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants is a very important paper that helps make sure that people who have to migrate are treated fairly and have the help they need to get back on their feet.
