ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

New Zealand pound

Okay, so once upon a time, a long, long time ago, people in New Zealand used a thing called the New Zealand Pound to buy things. It looked like a piece of paper with fancy words and numbers on it.

It was like a special kind of money just for people in New Zealand, kind of like how you might have your own piggy bank with your special coins and bills.

But then, one day, New Zealand decided that they wanted to use a different kind of money that was used in lots of other places, called the New Zealand Dollar.

So, they had to stop using the New Zealand Pound and start using the New Zealand Dollar instead. It was kind of like they had to trade in their old piggy bank for a new one.

And that's the story of the New Zealand Pound. The end.
