Nine Emperor Gods Festival

The Nine Emperor Gods Festival is an annual event that celebrates nine gods that come from Chinese folklore. It usually lasts nine days and celebrates a group of gods known as the "Nine Deities". It is believed that the gods have the power to bring good luck and blessings, and people choose to celebrate them to wish for blessings and good luck in their lives. During the festival, people set up makeshift altars in their homes, and gather in temples to pray and offer food, incense and other offerings to the Nine Emperor Gods. They also take part in fun activities such as parades and performances in the streets, and join in processions of boats lit with lanterns to signify the beginning of the festival. On the final day of the festival, a big feast is held to thank the gods and celebrate their presence.
