Okay kiddo, imagine there was a group of people a long, long time ago called the Sumerians. They believed in lots of gods and goddesses, and one of them was called Ninhursag. She was kind of like a mommy goddess, because she was in charge of making sure people had enough food, and that babies were born healthy.
Ninhursag was very important to the Sumerians, because they thought she was the one who made plants grow and animals have babies. They called her the "Lady of the Mountains," because they believed she lived in the mountains and that's where new life came from.
Sometimes, the Sumerians even pictured Ninhursag as a cow or a goat, because those animals were really good at giving milk and providing food. They thought she was kind and gentle, but also very powerful.
So basically, Ninhursag was a really cool goddess who the Sumerians thought was responsible for feeding and taking care of them, kind of like a really awesome mom.
