Nirvana (Buddhism)

Well kiddo, Nirvana is a word that means "blowing out" or "extinguishing". In Buddhism, it refers to a state of total peace and happiness that one can achieve by following the teachings of Buddha.

Buddha taught that all beings experience suffering because of the things they desire and cling to. This is called "attachment". When we let go of these attachments, we can reach Nirvana.

Nirvana is supposed to feel like the ultimate cool breeze, like a really refreshing drink on a hot day, like a really good nap after playing outside on an exhausting day.

But it’s not always easy to reach Nirvana. It takes a lot of effort and practice to become free from attachment and desire. Buddhists follow the Eightfold Path to help them reach Nirvana. The Eightfold Path includes things like being kind to others, being mindful and aware of our thoughts and actions, and meditating. If we do these things, we are on the right track to reach Nirvana!
